Our institute has a long standing track record developing AI methods for medicine. We are particularly interested in machine learning, medical robotics
and navigation, image guidedance, and treatment planning. In a new project we will study a novel platform for autonmous diagnosis. The work will
involve developing a mobile robot for clinical setting as well as processing point cloud data and medical ultrasound imaging for navigation.
Development and evaluation will be done in close cooperation with clinical partners and involving real tissue. All tasks have a research context and we
expect candidates to be interested in obtaining a PhD.
YOUR PROFILE
Requirements
- Completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subject of computer science or related fields (e.g., engineering, applied math)
Desired knowledge and personal skills
- Very good programming skills, particularly in Python and C++
- Excellent knowledge of recent machine learning methods and frameworks, particularly for computer vision, experience with AR/VR is a plus
- Very good understanding of ROS and robotics, including articulated arms and mobile platforms
- Excellent English language and scientific writing skills are required (at least C1), German is a plus
