The Institute for Autonomous Cyber-Physical Systems (ACPS) at Hamburg University of Technology invites applications for a position focused on semi-independent teaching and research in programming and software development. We seek an expert with strong theoretical foundations and practical experience, who is committed to applying and advancing innovative teaching methodologies.
This strategically significant position aims to substantially enhance the programming and software development competencies of computer science students at TU Hamburg, fostering their academic success and improving their readiness for the job market. The position includes a teaching load of six (6) semester hours per week (6 SWS), alongside active research responsibilities, including securing and managing third-party funded projects.
To support this mission, the institute will establish a working group composed of two postdoctoral researchers specializing in this area. This team will contribute to both teaching and research innovation, closely collaborating with existing institute members and leveraging as well as improving established methods and tools.
Courses are delivered in English and German.
Applicants who are not fluent in German are expected to demonstrate a willingness to achieve proficiency within 3-5 years.

Requirements
- Completed doctorate in the subject of Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Required knowledge and personal skills
- Excellent teaching competencies in programming paradigms (especially C/C++, Python, Java)
- Proven teaching records in software development techniques and tools (e.g., agile methods, scrum)
- Practical experience with version control tools (Git, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)
- Strong teamwork skills and empathy
