The Institute of Mathematics of Hamburg University of Technology hosts groups in several fields, who conduct internationally oriented research on current topics in mathematics and its applications. In teaching, the focus is on students in engineering programs and in Technomathematics.


YOUR TASKS

  • Conducting research in probability theory
  • The possible research topics include stochastic geometry, limit theorems, Stein's method, random graphs and extreme value theory.
  • Contributing to the teaching activities of the institute, mainly exercise classes (four hours per week during the semester)


YOUR PROFILE

Requirements

  • Completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subject of Mathematics

Required knowledge and personal skills

  • Good background in probability theory
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of German is helpful but not necessary.
