The Institute of Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering deals with knowledge-based scaling of bioprocesses and multi-scale bioprocess characterization as well as the development of robust bioprocesses with microorganisms and in cell culture applications. Another focus is the investigation of single cell physiology and population heterogeneities in bioprocesses using multiple reporter strains.
In the course of the advertised position, biofilm formation of Streptomyces in tubular bioreactors for the production of antibiotics will be investigated.
YOUR PROFILE
Requirements
- Completed scientific university studies (masters degree or equivalent), in particular in the subject Biotechnology or Bioprocess Engineering
Desired knowledge and personal skills
- Practical experience in cultivation in bioreactors at laboratory scale is mandatory, preferable also experience in bioreactor design
- Proven expertise in analysis of bioprocess samples on single cell and population level
- Ideally experience in working with fluorescent reporter strains
- Friendly, open-minded personality and great tream player
- Willingness to participate in supervision of lab courses
