The Institute of Integrated Circuits and Systems (IICS) is responsible for the research and teaching activities in the areas of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) design at TUHH. For performing these IC design tasks we rely on a Linux server, on which the Cadence IC design environment is executed, as well as additional application and data servers in a small network. As the IT system administrator, you are responsible for maintaining, extending and protecting these systems.

Your tasks

  • Administration of the IT-infrastructure incl. Linux and Windows servers, Windows and macOS clients as well as the local area network
  • Conceptualization, installation and configuration of new software and hardware systems (servers, workstations, printers and network equipment)
  • IT security and data protection
  • Management of user accounts and IT support for our colleagues and students, point of contact for the computer center
  • Management of the homepage and connected databases (e. g. for application management)

Your profile

Requirements

  • University degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in computer science  Each with relevant professional experience in the fields of the advertised position
  • or computer engineering Skills and experience equivalent to the university degree
  • each with relevant professional experience in the fields of the advertised position

Required knowledge and personal skills

  • Very good knowledge and experience in independently managing IT-systems (servers, clients and IT networks) are mandatory
  • Practical experience in the setup and administration of Linux server systems (preferably Red Hat) is mandatory
  • Experience with the administration of user accounts, homepages, databases and file servers is required
  • Experience with the conceptualization and setup of new server systems and managing IC design software is required
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory (B2/C1 GeR), knowledge of German is an advantage
