  • Develop efficient numerical algorithms for initial value problems in the context of tracking algorithms.
  • Understand the characteristics of new algorithms by means of numerical analysis.
  • Implement your developments in Python or a similar language.
  • Present your results at scientific conferences and in the form of scientific publications.
  • Teach exercise groups for students in our engineering programs (approximately 4h contact hours per week during teaching time).


  • A Master’s degree or a comparable qualification in computational mathematics, applied mathematics, computational science or a similar discipline.
  • Excellent knowledge of numerical methods for differential equations.
  • Programming experience in Python, Julia, C/C++, Fortran or a similar language.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of the German language is not required for this position.
  • Experience with tracking or filtering problems, this is considered a plus.
