  • Model theory and game theory in verification
  • Algorithmic foundations of quantum computing
  • Computational models and theory for cyber-physical systems

The position starts as junior professorship (W1), with a tenure track to full professorship (W3). While the position focuses on fundamental research, TUHH expects that candidates demonstrate an interest in applying their findings in engineering areas and collaborate with related research institutes at TUHH and its partners in the region. As Professor for Theoretical Computer Science, the successful candidate is expected to offer courses in computer science, engineering computer science, data science and related degree programmes, both at the undergraduate and graduate level, and to engage in the further development of the curricula offered by TUHH. This professorship is funded by the Joint Federal Government-Länder Tenure Track Programme (“Bund-Länder-Programm zur Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses”). The appointment is due to commence in the 2021/22 winter term.

The initial appointment will be for three years, with the possibility of renewal for a further three years after a positive interim evaluation. Following another positive evaluation in the final year, the candidate will be tenured at the professorial level (W3).
