The institute’s interdisciplinary and international research team covers a broad range of research topics relevant to achieving a practically useful quantum advantage. They range from mathematically rigorous investigations to collaborations with experimentalists and applied scientists from industry.
We are looking for a researcher working on an upcoming project on quantum benchmarking and quantum error correction. The research will contain rigorous mathematical analyses as well as proof-of-concept-type numerical demonstrations. It is part of a joint project with the quantum computing company Universal Quantum.
YOUR PROFILE
Requirements
- Completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subject*s Quantum Sciences, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or comparable
Required knowledge and personal skills
- Prior rigorous mathematical training and solid knowledge of quantum mechanics is required.
- Advanced knowledge in at least one of the topics:
quantum algorithms,
randomized measurements,
quantum system characterization (QCVV)
- Group representation theory, probabilistic tail bounds, programming skills are advantageous
Excellent grades (PhD students) / excellent publications (postdocs) are expected.
