The Institute of Photonics conducts research in nanophotonics, metasurfaces, and light–matter interactions at the nanoscale. Particular emphasis is placed on the design and experimental investigation of active and nonlinear photonic nanostructures, including hybrid systems based on plasmonic, dielectric, and two-dimensional materials. Current and future research activities focus on tunable metasurfaces, exciton–photon coupling, nonlinear optical processes, and nanoscale light sources.
We are seeking a communicative and well-organized researcher to join the institute starting 1 May 2026. The successful candidate will support the coordination of research and teaching activities, contribute to ongoing research projects, supervise students, and assist in the preparation and management of third-party funded projects.
YOUR PROFILE
Requirements
- Completed doctorate, in particular in the subject Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field in nanophotonics
Desired knowledge and personal skills
- Proven expertise in nanophotonics, metasurfaces, or related areas of light–matter interaction at the nanoscale
- Experience in experimental photonics, including optical characterization, nanofabrication, and nanophotonic measurements
- Experience in supervising or mentoring students in research projects
- Knowledge in the preparation or management of third-party funded research projects is desirable
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate laboratory infrastructure and collaborative research activities
